Chile and climate change

Chile is one of the most affected countries by climate change because of industries that are cost-effective, and how they contaminate and produce pollution. This country has a lot of industries all across the state. I would highlight one: Mineral extractivism. A lot of communities that live near mining industries fight against these companies for the damage they cause. They left all of their waste at the ground of these local communities, so the process of ground recovery is slow and also, this pollute the water of the local community like on Caimanes City at Coquimbo region. These companies also let out so many toxic substances that can produce acid rain. Companies like this, they extract too much mineral, that let them earn a lot of money but it causes a lot of damage. These industries can make a whole small town disappear for bad living conditions. the same happens with electricity companies that seek for  renewable energy, the termoelectricas are a good example. They take water from the sea and use it and then they return it with chlorine and a higher temperature that produce bad changes in the sea. So if Chile is one of the most affected countries by climate change, it is basically because Chilean government can increase their statistics at economics at all costs, promoting this kind of industries that produce a lot of damage to the environment.
